Plug'N'Teach · Teaching lab

Real superconducting qubits in your teaching lab.

Plug'N'Teach is a complete lab — chip, control electronics, dilution refrigerator, training and course material — so your students measure real qubits, not simulations, and graduate with the hands-on skills the quantum industry is hiring for.

In use at the Niels Bohr Institute

We have been using the QiB2 device in the Quantum Training Lab at the Niels Bohr Institute since 2024. The device is well suited for this purpose since it allows for the evaluation of different properties of superconducting qubits.

What your students will do

From first resonance to two-qubit gates

  • Find and characterise bare resonators

  • Calibrate and control single qubits of increasing complexity

  • Measure coherence (T1, T2)

  • Compare a tunable-coupler pair with a fixed-coupler pair and the two-qubit gates each allows

Standard course

8 experiments · 40 lab hours

  1. Resonator spectroscopy: find the bare and readout resonators
  2. Qubit spectroscopy and the dispersive shift
  3. Rabi oscillations and pi-pulse calibration
  4. Energy relaxation (T1)
  5. Ramsey and spin-echo dephasing (T2*, T2 echo)
  6. Flux tuning of a frequency-tunable qubit
  7. Coupling through a tunable coupler
  8. Coupling through a fixed coupler, and the gates each allows

Course material is part of the lab.

Shipping and export control

Our quantum devices are EU dual-use items (category 3A001). Every order needs a signed End-User Statement before shipping. Within the EU, and to Australia, Canada, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland, the UK and the US, no individual licence is needed. Anywhere else needs an export licence, which adds time, so tell us your destination early and we'll start the paperwork with you.
