QiB0: the first commercial quantum device made in Sweden
QiB0, a packaged chip with four fixed-frequency transmons, was the first commercial quantum device designed and made in Sweden.
In January 2024 we launched QiB0, the first commercial quantum device designed and made in Sweden.
What it is
QiB0 is a known-good qubit chip for your cryostat. It has four fixed-frequency transmons between 3 and 5 GHz, each with its own readout resonator, and two bare resonators. The chip comes wire-bonded in a gold-plated oxygen-free copper case with two female SMA connectors: one line in, one line out.
What it is for
Plug it into your cryostat and you find out whether a problem is your chip or your setup. It is designed for benchmarking a new cryostat or a wiring change against a known device, calibrating readout and attenuation chains, and demonstrating decoherence and qubit state initialisation in a course.
Measured since
The current datasheet, v2.0 from October 2025, gives an average T1 of 90–130 µs and up to 256 µs. Bluefors and QphoX have used QiB0 in a paper, and Kiutra in an application note on cryogenic measurement setups.
QiB0 is made on the same aluminium-on-silicon transmon process we use for foundry customers.
